How the SYC Foundation operates:

The SYC Foundation Board of Directors is an all volunteer group that has a common interest in supporting boating in the Northwest.  We work hard to raise funds through the annual SYC Foundation oyster feed, auction, and by receipt of charitable giving.  The Board actively seeks out opportunities where we can make a difference and help programs, youth teams and individuals.  We encourage individuals and groups to complete our grant request form and solicit our help.

The SYC Foundation is an extremely efficient charity which operates with less than 1% overhead so nearly all funds received are passed on to grant recipients. To secure funding in the future we have begun to build an endowment.  It is our feeling that through an endowment the SYC Foundation can fund larger programs and make a more substantial contribution.

Why donations are important:

Many life lessons can be learned on the water, including self-reliance, responsibility, leadership, teamwork and preparedness.  Boating is a wonderful way to introduce youth and foster the skills developed on the water.

How can you help?

The Foundation greatly appreciates any donations.  These donations can be earmarked for the endowment or our general fund.  We will send you a thank you note and receipt.

• Donations can be made in person at the Seattle Yacht Club, or charged to an SYC member account.

 Other ways you can give:

• Securities:  Transfer stocks, bonds or mutual funds directly to the Foundation.

• Planned Giving or Annualized Donations

• Estate Planning:  One of the best ways for you to help us is to remember the SYC Foundation in your will.  Even a small percentage of your estate can make a large long term contribution to the community.

• Beneficiary Designation Gifts:  Name the SYC Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, annuity, trust, IRA or other legal contract.

• Attend our annual Oyster Feed and Auction.
